Sick again
A recurring theme of living here in Indonesia seems to be having a stomach sickness. I tend to get sick about once a month with diarhea, vomiting or both and I'm at it again. I finally ate a little today at lunch for the first time since monday. I've been trying to allow my body to "beat the bug" but after four days of not eating, having no energy and sleeping through my prep periods, I'm throwing in the towel. I'm now on heavy doses of Flagyl to kill off Giardia. We've lost a lot of the elementary kids to a similar sickness. (By lost I mean they are home sick, not that they have died) I can't wait till I am back in the US and don't have to worry about getting severe stomach sicknesses all the time. On the positive side, there is no way to lose weight faster. I've already dropped about 5 pounds!

I was cleaning up some stuff today and found two photos of you in a group of MKs--one at your graduation and one at Snells' cabin. Do you still have long hair?

I NEVER got sick in the US like I get sick here and it happens all the time. The medicine for intestinal worms says that 60-80% of the population has worms. Then between Giardia, Denge Fever, Malaria and Typhoid it is really easy to get critically ill. It is amazing what unsanitary conditions lead to.
No, I don't have long hair anymore. In fact, I've been shaving my head for the last year or so. Look back in my posts a few months and you can even see a picture. I actually don't bic it anymore but I trim it with a #1 guard about once a week. Quite a change from those pictures I bet.

Get yourself some Cipro. It works wonders on intestinal diseases.

Believe me, I live on cipro but sometimes it has a hard time killing some germs like giardia so I use Flagyl instead. I don't travel without cipro anymore though.
