What great readership

I took a look at the stats for my website and more people are using Firefox than Internet Explorer! I'm glad so many people have already switched to a safer, faster and more enjoyable internet experience. For those of you still using the "big blue e," be sure to check out the Firefox Browser today.

Those of you using Firefox, have you played around with tabs yet? Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab. Press ctrl and click on a link to automatically open it in a new tab. Makes it so easy to open more than one link from a page without having to back and forth.

  • I just read your newsletter. I'm glad you made it back safely and had such a good trip. I prayed for you while you were there. (And now today we hear of another earthquake...) I pray God will give you clear guidance as you think about your next job.

I switched to Firefox a while ago and now my old computer seems to need to be rebooted less often :) But I've noticed some things look wrong in Firefox that look OK in IE.

  • I suspect that sooner or later hackers will go after firefox as well. I tried to use it (still have a copy) but I didn't like that the bookmarks weren't compatible and I had to import them everyday. I had a portable bookmark list that I updated between work and home and it just didn't work out to export from firefox.

  • Thainamu - This is a result of the people who made the websites not following the standards of the internet. I never have used Internet Explorer so I don't know what things are IE only

Ryan Scott - I agree that hackers will probably start going after Firefox quite soon. The difference is though that I believe Firefox is inherently more secure and patches come a lot quicker. Firefox does not support ActiveX which is where a majority of security problems come from. It is also not as well integrated into the OS so if it is hacked, the whole OS is not as vulnerable.

For bookmarks, you might want to try the site del.icio.us which allows you to store your bookmarks online and the firefox extension foxylicious which will automatically download them for you. Way easier and cooler than doing it by hand.
