Canada Team

I'm back and working a million miles an hour for 12-14 hours a day. I arrived back at the exact same time as a work group of 27 people from Canada. They are here to help with construction on the project site to taking care of all of them is a full time job for 4 of us in addition to all the other things I'm supposed to be catching up on after 6 weeks of being gone from the base. I'm writing this now in a brief period I have in the morning since I'm still a little jetlagged. Its the only free time I have all day.

My replacement has arrived as well and we're working together to get him up to speed and ready to take over for when I leave in almost exactly a month. It feels strange to be turning over responsibility for the project since I have been in control for so long but it is also a good thing.

I'll post more when I have a chance.

  • Ah, coordinating teams. It IS a full time Job isn't it. I miss it though.
I'll be back there in August for two weeks. I think I'll prbably wind up helping coordinate Westover! Remember grill master Tony? They'll be there at the same time!

  • It is definitely a full time job that I'm doing in addition to my other full time jobs which I had neglected for 6 weeks so I have been going pretty crazy. To give you an idea of the logistics, we send out almost 300 liters of drinking water per day and enough food to feed 30-40 people 3 times a day. Thats a lot of stuff.

I'll be done the beginning of August but will probably be around somewhere. Give me a shout and see if I'm around!
